Saunas:We would like to recommend you just the best one!Babylon sauna, hotel, pool bar, gym and restaurant.34 Soi Nantha, off Sathorn Soi 1 Road It is no big secret that the maze of corridors, darkened steam room, sauna, plunge pool and numerous private cabins make Babylon one of the biggest gay attractions in Bangkok. You can top up your tan on the sun terrace, swim in the pool, workout at the gym, enjoy a meal at the surprisingly good restaurant, sip a beer in the chill-out areas, or simply unwind in the hands of a male masseur. It is also possible for a monogamous couple to enjoy Babylon's relaxed 100% gay environment just as much as anyone.W recommend bringing your own flip-flops (and gym gear if you want to use the gym). Otherwise, virtually everyone wears just a towel (provided).Lockers, free condoms and lube are provided. Bring cash but leave other valuables at your hotel. If you bring valuables, leave them in one of the security boxes (located on the wall just after reception) rather than your locker in the changing room.Saturday and Sunday afternoons are busiest. Interesting one-way mirror arrangements in the toilets ;) Islands: Koh Samet / Island The tranquil tropical island of Koh Samet (or often spelled “Ko Samed”) has beautifully soft sandy beaches and is surrounded by clear warm water.Samet has become popular with gay travellers looking for something a bit different to the more developed resorts of Phuket or Pattaya and have relax near Bangkok. The island is three hours drive from Bangkok by car (plus a 15-minute speed boat crossing), making it easier and cheaper to reach than destinations that require an internal flight. Is possible to take a bus from Bangkok to boat station. Most beaches on Samet are on the east side of the island. The beaches hide in small bays (“Ao” in Thai language) and stretch about 200 metres. From the north, popular beaches include Hat Sai Kaew, Ao Phai, Ao Tubtim, Ao Wongduen, Ao Wai, Ao Kiew Na Nok, Ao Pakarang and Ao Prao. You will find gay sunbathers on every beach, although Ao Tubtim has attracted a large gay crowd in recent years and is considered by many as the ‘unofficial gay beach’ of the island.During the day, most people tend to stay at their resort’s own beach as they usually provide sun loungers, shades and an ‘at seat’ food and drink service. At night, many head for Silver Sand Hotel that has an open-air dance club/bar that can get very crowded on Friday and Saturday nights.Occasional gay circuit beach parties take place on long weekends when there are National holidays. Visitors go to Koh Samet all year round, with peak months from November to April. Low period starts from May until September which is the rainy season; but even then, the island has much less rain than other islands in Thailand.Tourists should, however, be careful of occasional storms.Koh Samui / Island Koh Samui’s natural beauty, world-class resorts and laid-back gay scene make it the holiday destination of choice for many. Koh Samui is renowned for its white sandy, coconut tree fringed beaches. Most are well-organised with sun loungers & shades available for rent and plenty of bars, cafés & restaurants nearby.Chaweng Beach At 7 km long, Chaweng Beach is the longest, most developed and most popular beach on Koh Samui. There are numerous upmarket resorts along the beach that extend back to Chaweng Beach Road, the epicentre of Koh Samui’s gay and straight nightlife.Lamai Beach Samui’s second largest beach located on a corner in the south of the island. The white sandy Lamai Beach has a quieter, more laid-back atmosphere than Chaweng, although there is still plenty to see and do. The southern end of the beach is best for swimming. The northern end is quieter and shallow quite a long way out. There is a good choice of beach restaurants and cheaper places to eat and drink along the road immediately behind the beach.MaeNam Beach MaeNam (or Mae Nam) Beach extends west from BoPhut beach along the northern coast of Samui. This quiet beach is lined with coconut trees and retains some of Samui character from the day’s before mass tourism (although in recent years a number of luxury resorts have sprung up.Dance clubs: The Green MangoChaweng Beach Road Long-running dance club with a mostly mixed crowd. The Green Mango was one of the first nightclubs to open on the island.Located close to all the other nighttime venues in central Chaweng. Most gay party-goers start their night at Sweet Soul then head to Sound Club until late.
