  麦克唐奈山脉的东西段在爱丽斯泉的两边绵延数百公里，形成了冒险乐园，有远足小径、四驱车道、游泳洞及露营点。跳上一辆自行车，沿着爱丽斯泉往辛普森峡谷的自行车道骑行，探访永不消逝的水潭和岩袋鼠的聚居地。或是选择一日或两日游，埃勒里溪大水潭（Ellery Creek Big Hole）、奥米斯顿峡谷（Ormiston Gorge）、格兰海伦峡谷（Glen Helen Gorge）和红河岸峡谷（Redbank Gorge），探索那些风景如画的深水潭，顺便消解炎热。

  离开爱丽丝泉(Alice Spring)大概20KM的地方就看见辛普森裂缝（Simpsons Gap）的标示牌。这是西麦克唐纳国家公园的第一个景点，离开马路沿小路开进去，有停车场，大概步行1KM左右就是辛普森裂缝（Simpsons Gap）了。

  Stayed a couple of nights to explore the surrounding areas, was good for the out back if not a little "squashed in". Sites were very narrow and we were unable to pull out our awning - this was a little disappointing as there is plenty of area that could be used. The facilities were ok proberbly the best you could expect for the outback with bore water tending to destroy the plumbing.
