早先这里是屠宰及卖肉的街巷，也叫卖肉街，也是哈利波特里的对角巷，街道不长也挺狭窄，哈迷们在各个小店穿梭乐开花。

这些房子，二楼比一楼凸出，三楼又比二楼凸出，因此两边房子靠得很近，最窄的一段只留下一条天际线。 相传这条街过去都是肉铺，肉铺老板为了避免猪肉受到阳光暴晒变质，房子越造越近，估计住在顶楼的人都可以隔着街道互相握手了。

Shemborg Street dates back to the 14th century. This street used to be famous for selling livestock and meat. Now, the street is lined with ancient buildings built by plastering wooden frames. There are many boutiques on the side of the road. This is the diagonally opposite alley in Harry Potter movies and the most complete and oldest medieval street in England so far. Every brick here shows a variety of medieval styles.

The street itself is not long. After shopping, you can walk around. There is a local market nearby and some specially decorated coffee shops. It's worth sitting in and drinking tea.

要说大家知道它都是因为哈利波特，冲着作为对角巷的拍摄地点来，所以哈利波特迷们不能错过了。谢姆伯街最早可以追溯到14世纪，又称肉铺街，因为曾经这里以贩卖牲畜和肉类而出名，所以街道很窄加上特殊的设计，使阳光不会直射到肉，以保持肉质的新鲜。现在，肉铺街早就已经没有买肉的商贩，但这里以在木架上涂抹灰泥的古老方式建成的建筑完好的保存到了现在，是英国保存最完好的中世纪街巷之一。

约克大教堂真的从外观上就震撼到我了，特别壮观，还一直听见教堂传来的吟诵声和钟声，离多远都能听见。因为离教堂开门时间还早，我们决定先绕着城区转转其他景点，比如古老的约克城墙，比如克利福德塔，还有因为哈利波特的拍摄而很有名的对角巷——谢姆伯街

It's a very special street. Harry Potter Diagon Alley is right here. The shops on both sides are worth visiting carefully. In addition to the 50% discount of Z's Cambridge bags, there are also some gadgets that need to be cleaned up in time. Architecture is also very distinctive. It's one of my favorite places in York in one year
