Before being smashed to pieces, the oil bottles were stored in the Church of Saint Remy on the south side of the old city of Reims, another world cultural heritage site in Reims. As the name suggests, Saint Remy's church is to commemorate the Archbishop of Saint Remy. In 496 A.D., he held a baptism ceremony for Clovis, the king of the barbarians who came to France, accompanied by another 3000 barbarian soldiers. This marks that Western Europe has since been incorporated into the Roman public ideology system. 500 years later, in 988, the Great Duke of Vladimir of Russia converted to the orthodox church by the Dnieper River, and all the citizens of Kiev rose were baptized and converted together in the river. When the king's coronation was held in the era of French monarchy, it is said that the oil bottle used by Archbishop St. Remy would be invited out of St. Remy's church and transported to Reims Cathedral along the avenue. This is also the most important prelude to the coronation, such as the historical reappearance of Clovis baptism. The architecture of St. Remy's Church embodies the style of transition from Roman style in the 11th century to Gothic style in the 12th century. The 96 candles on the chandelier symbolize that Archbishop Remy, the greatest bishop in French history, has lived for 96 years, while the Archbishop's own cemetery was rebuilt in the 17th century, so it has a vivid, delicate and slightly abrupt baroque style. Although the number of figures in St. Remi's church is small, they are the best figures I have seen in many churches in France. Basically, they are all around the baptism of Clovis by St. Remi. Take a close look at the Archbishop's face. The more you look at it, the more familiar you feel. Think hard Why? This is not the BBC TV series yes, Minister! 》Minister Huck in there?!

Info
The 121 meter high Basilique Saint Remi, named after the Archbishop of the same name, is a world cultural heritage site of the United Nations. The Romanesque nave and transept in the church are still eye-catching after many vicissitudes. At the top of the church is a 12th century chandelier, which can be filled with 96 candles, each of which represents the life of Archbishop St. Remi.

I prefer St. Remy's church to Reims cathedral. There are not many visitors to this church. You can have a close look. There is no complicated sculpture, but the simplicity is full of high aesthetic feeling.

In 1991, the Cathedral of Notre Dame, the abbey of Saint Remy and the palace of taw in Reims were named as the world cultural heritage. The monastery of St. Remi was built in the 6th century AD. Since 1099, the remains of St. Remi, bishop of Reims, have been moved here from the Cathedral of Reims to be preserved.

The architectural style is similar to that of Notre Dame, but it is older than that of Notre Dame. There are few tourists, so you can sit quietly.

I feel that everything here is so quiet and harmonious. When walking, the pigeons are in sync with you. People are seldom quiet

It was evening when I went, and it began to rain in the open air. It was dark inside, and a clergyman did not see it. The overall feeling of the church is also very simple. The stained glass and the shrine of Saint Remy are the highlights.

I haven't really been in a church. It looks very small. There are many people holding wedding ceremony here.
