In 1949, sculptor Scott & middot Sutherland won the £ 200 first prize in a collection of designs that opened to all Scottish sculptors for the commando monument. The memorial was officially launched by the Queen's mother on September 27, 1952. This monument is composed of three bronze sculptures of commandos. Looking south at Ben Nevis mountain, there is a sign on the base of the monument that "unity can conquer". The original intention of the monument is that the nearby training center of the achnacarry commando, which was founded in 1942, has evolved into a place for mourning the dead of the war, as well as an exclusive website for online hanging, including the soldiers killed in recent years in Malaysia, Afghanistan and Iraq.

Why is there such a high score? I feel very strange. It's a place where you drive by, and generally you don't stop here to watch this monument. The monument is very small. With the three-day tour group, it passes here almost every day. No one stops. It may have a strong memorial significance, but it's not worth staying here in terms of Scotland's beautiful scenery of mountains and lakes.

This is a mountain training commando camp set up by the Allied forces to fight back against the German army during the Second World War. After the victory of the war, statues are built here to commemorate the dead martyrs. The story told by the guide is breathtaking! This monument stands in the middle of the Midwest part of the Scottish Highlands, beside the A82 highway, surrounded by mountains. In the distance, you can see Ben Nevis mountain and the snow on the top of the mountain.

161226, driving by, after all, I'm not driving by myself. I'm sorry to stop all the time to have a look. Anyway, the cultural attractions are not worth mentioning compared with the natural scenery of the highland.
