On the way from Omaha Beach to the mountains of St. Michel, you will pass Utah Beach, which is the westernmost beach in that year's landing. Among the beaches, the most fierce one is the Bloody Omaha. In Utah, there are not many German troops deployed. The Allies only took three hours to seize the coastal road. This is the place with the least casualties in the landing war. Today's Utah Beach seems to be light, with a landing Museum and a restaurant called Roosevelt. Sitting in the open seat of Roosevelt's restaurant for a cup of coffee, the smell of blood in the Normandy sea breeze dissipated more than 80 years ago.

After the D-Day Museum, visit the nearby Utah beach. The buffet on the beach is very expensive. In the bar, so is beer. For a walk on the beach, you can pick up rainbow and clam at night. Very good.

It is also one of the important landing places for D-Day US Army. Utah Beach is different from Omaha Beach, with a relatively flat sand. There is a landing boat at the entrance of the beach for you to pose for photos. Utah Beach is not as depressing as Omaha beach because there is no cemetery and there is a Roosevelt cafe. Next to it is the museum.

奥马哈海滩是美军登陆地，全长有8公里。攻占奥马哈海滩对于盟军至关重要，因为它位于犹他海滩和金滩、朱诺海滩的中间地带，攻下它盟军的登陆区就能连成一片，就是一个大型的战线，否则就是零散的滩头阵地。

嗯，看到了，去年去了诺曼底，犹他海滩 朱诺海滩 剑海滩，看了兄弟连上D DAy攻克的阵地4门88mm炮，今年排个计划再去看看一战的凡尔登啥的，波兰也要列入计划了

We are here to bring our son to experience history, so the route I made is also related to this. We specially arranged a tour of St. Michel's mountain yesterday afternoon, so that we can have a whole day to explore today. It turns out that one day was not enough. I chose to visit two famous beaches -- Utah Beach and Omaha Beach. The day was almost over. I wanted to go to Xiangbi mountain. It was nearly 6 p.m. and I had to give up. Next time I think we'll spend at least a week here.

早上又去山上转了转，看看清晨的景色。十点出发，前往诺曼底登陆的五片沙滩，自驾约一小时。下了高速，扑面而来的是典型的法国乡村景象，两边都是农田和牧场，道路几乎没有什么车、也没有红绿灯，路口大多是转盘，互相礼让，通过非常快。快到犹他海滩的时候，到处都能看到美国国旗和登陆的纪念雕像。

Utah Beach, on the west side of the bay of Carentan, is a three mile wide beach covered with low sand dunes. Although the actual landing place of the Allied forces was one mile east of the scheduled place, it was fortunately that the German forces did not deploy much at the landing point. After the attack, within three hours, the Allied forces crossed the beach and took control of the coastal roads. Before noon, the landing forces met with the airborne troops who had landed behind the enemy five hours ago. At midnight, the Allied forces not only successfully achieved the target of the landing, but also advanced four miles inland. Among all landing operations, Utah beach landing is the one with the least casualties, with only 197 casualties out of 23000 officers and soldiers.
