瓦朗索尔在阿维尼翁的东面约120km，自驾开车至少需要2个小时，属普罗旺斯-阿尔卑斯-蓝色海岸大区（Provence-Alpes-Côté-d’Azur），上阿尔卑斯省管辖的一个镇 （Commune）。小镇与其它许多普罗旺斯小镇一样建在一个小山丘之上，小镇比索村稍大一点。 小镇没有什么可看的地方。在小镇转了一圈，连一张照片都没有拍。因为就没有什么值得拍照的地方。这个市政厅完全算不上什么景点。瓦朗索尔最著名的是其小镇附近的薰衣草花田。

With a population of less than 2000, the town retains the charm of Provence. Near the town hall square is the town's dining center. After D6 Road, there is almost no restaurant.
