At the beginning of the year, the Romans occupied Chester. In 100 A.D., the Romans built the arena, which can hold nearly 7000 people. It is the largest Colosseum in ancient Rome in Britain and was once used for entertainment and military training by the 20th regiment located in the fort of Deva. From 2004 to 2005, two connected stone amphitheaters with wooden seats were excavated here. The arena is free for visitors.

Chester Roman amphitheatre is the largest existing Roman amphitheatre in Britain. It was discovered and excavated in 1929. According to archaeological findings, the arena was built in the first century. The Roman Legion was mainly used for military training and exercises, as well as boxing, wrestling, wrestling, and even cockfighting and bullfighting.
