The theatre square is the center of Montpellier, connecting the old city and the new city. It is the main venue of the Montpellier Theatre Festival because of the name of the theatre built in the 19th century. The square is the most bustling place in the city. Countless restaurants surround the square. Every afternoon, many people sit in the open-air coffee shop and stare at the people coming and going in the square. There is a fountain in the center of the square, surrounded by many entertainers and sand sculptures. There is also a double deck carousel on the square, which, together with the theatre, forms the symbol of the old city of Montpellier.

During the Christmas season, the lights in the comedy square were on early, and the smell of hot red wine came from the Christmas market nearby. That's my Christmas memory.
