St. Mary's church is the main church of Oxford University. It has a history of nearly one thousand years, and its architecture is magnificent. It's also the first impression of Oxford for many tourists, as it's just next to the Gloucester green bus station. This is a post Gothic building. Standing on the steeple, you can enjoy the scenery of Oxford. The portico was built in 1637, and its spiral column is a great innovation in the history of British architecture. The war of 1645 left bullet marks on the porch. In the early days of St. Mary's church, all the ceremonies, formal meetings and examinations were held here. Later, the activities of each college became more and more independent, and the role of the church gradually weakened. In the famous scuffle between teachers, students and citizens in the 13th century, the king ruled that the citizens should compensate for the loss of the University and bear the cost of the University for the next 500 years. So on the Friar's day every year, a group of Oxford citizen representatives will come to the church and give the compensation to the high hopes of the school.

A representative Church in Oxford. Mount the church spire and enjoy the beautiful panorama of Oxford. This university church is free to visit. It used to be one of the oldest buildings in Oxford University and the venue for various commencement and graduation ceremonies. This is the witness of many historical events. The three Oxford martyrs mentioned before have been judged here, demonstrating their determination to defend their Protestant faith to the death

圣玛丽大学教堂University Church of St Mary the Virgin是牛津大学的官方教堂，位于博德利图书馆旁边。这里可以登顶俯瞰牛津城。可我们没兴趣。其他学院我们也只是路过外观，我们的目的地是基督教堂学院（University college at Christ church）。创立于公元1525年的基督教会学院是牛津大学最大的学院，曾在内战时作为查理一世的临时首都，最引以为傲的是它培养了16位英国首相。

逛完基督学院原计划是去圣玛丽大学教堂University Church of St Mary the Virgin登顶去一览牛津的全景风貌，但由于老人小孩逛了一天体力损耗相对较大，以及排队就放弃了此行程，但在那边的纪念品店买了徽章和帽子作为到此一游的纪念也算圆满

美美的用完午餐我们就去酒店checkin了，这家酒店到市中心走路只要十分钟。路上还会经过一条小河，景色也很美。放好行李就开始逛了。同样没做什么攻略，就按锦囊的推荐路线，基督教堂学院、博德利图书馆、圣玛丽大学教堂。教堂可以登上钟楼俯瞰牛津，我累了没上去，负责看包，LG一个人上去了。是不是很美，像画一样！
