Carlton hill is located in the east of Edinburgh new town, which is the commanding point and viewing area of Edinburgh. There are many historical monuments and buildings on the mountain, such as a great depression era in the early 20th century. In order to solve the problem of employment, the municipal government specially funded and built an ancient Greek Parthenon style building without any specific purpose. Tourists gathered at sunrise and sunset.

Tips
Although it's not safe at night, you can see the ancient city of Edinburgh in neon light when you climb the Carlton mountain in the evening or at night. Edinburgh in the sunset will be more delicious than in the daytime.

很漂亮的一个景点，关键还是免费。打卡拍照很值得一去。周边很不好停车，建议大家吧车停在Long Stay的停车场，这样更划算。

英剧《南方与北方》的取景地。不要门票，有纳尔逊纪念碑和大卫休谟的墓地。很喜欢这里。

此程和上次在卡尔顿山蹲日出比起来，可艰难多了......虽然心态有点崩，但眼前的美景就是最好的慰藉。山顶的风特别大，然而却没有海风那般嘶吼，在这里可以看到整个爱丁堡的风景，满满的英伦气息迎面而来，远方是海天相接的蔚蓝大海，果然亚瑟山上的美景比卡尔顿山更有魅力。

夏天出游感觉时间真的很长，都六点多了，天还大亮，回酒店也没有事情做，临时增加行程，前往卡尔顿山看日落。车子开到了半山腰，就不能继续往上了，最后一段要步行登顶。
