The larger theater to the north is the th é GRE antique de Lyon, also known as the ancient theatre of fourvi è re. It was built in 15 B.C., a peaceful and glorious time under the rule of Augustus. It was also a time when Agrippa, a strategist and architect, built a lot of buildings. The grand theater can hold more than 10000 people. A little south of the Grand Theatre, there is also a small theatre (OD é on antique de Lyon, Odeon of Lyon). Some people call the small theatre Lyon theatre. I don't think it's accurate. In fact, both theaters can be called Lyon Roman Theatre. So I still call it "music theater" (or small theater). Odeon means a concert hall or musical theater. In Roman times, Odeon was also used as a musical performance, recitation, speech or a small meeting of nobles. The capacity of the small theater is about 3000 people.
