Lijiang River, which belongs to the Xijiang River system of the Pearl River Basin, is the general name of the upper reaches of Guijiang river, a tributary, and is located in the northeast of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. In the traditional sense, the Lijiang River starts from Maoershan, Yuechengling, the source of Guijiang river, and modern hydrology is defined as lingqukou, Rongjiang Town, Xing'an County, and ends at Sanjiangkou, Pingle county. The upper reaches of the Lijiang River are the Daxue River and the lower reaches are the Guijiang river of traditional name. Lingqu river mouth is the boundary point between the Dashuijiang section and Lijiang section of Guijiang river, Lipu River and Gongcheng river mouth are the boundary points between Lijiang section and Guijiang section. The Lijiang River section is 164 kilometers long. The river bed along the river is mostly water pebbles, with small amount of sediment and clear water quality. The two banks are mostly karst landforms. Rich in tourism resources, the famous landscape of Guilin is on the Lijiang River.
