This is worth a few hours drive, and a lovely day excursion. Whether youre antique hunting, vintage clothing shopping, or looking for real flea market bargains, this is a great place.
the house itself is well worth a visit, left in a state of disrepair and totally original, surrounded by lovely parkland. The restaurant serves lovely food made with locally sourced ingredients a highly recommended afternoon out.
it was very much worth a look. Free entry but donations welcome and very friendly and informative staff. It does not look muck from the outside but inside plays host to a massive natural history exhibitions, ranging from bronze age artifacts and a very impressive 'in the forest' exhibition where you feel like your in the heart of the wild forests and there's loads of information about the natural area of Derbyshire.
Factory tour took 75 minutes. Very informative, watching the full manufacturing process through to decorating figures by hand. Extra-ordinary! We booked afternoon tea after the visit, absolutely delicious. Worth every penny of the £15 per head. All the staff were most welcoming and helpful. WE eventually found a memento in the shop with the help of staff to take away as a keepsake.
