Vail: August 2012
After much research and preparation we finally headed to Vail. We thought we would have a relaxed vacation - how wrong were we...
The very first stop at Denver tt was hit with fever and vomit, while ignorant mm was still unaware of what is ahead of him...
The next day we kept our original plan and drove to Vail. It was a ~ 2 hour drive and it took a herioc effort to finally put both to sleep on the way...
This is our second time to Vail - the first time was just a short stopover. We enjoyed it so much that we made a rare exception to visit it again, this time for a whole week. Vail is beautiful and we settled into our cozy 2-bedroom apartment. tt was still sick, so much so that we went to the urgent care, and was immediately served with oxygen. we had no idea that the high elevation and lack of oxygen was the whole culprit! tt recovered slowly, caring the oxygen tank whenever he goes - quite a scene... it seems that even a small elevation change at this elevation (~8300 feet) would make tt's symptoms worse... soon cc went down too... it was hard enough to trying to settle mm during nap time - let's just say pushing a double-stroller on a carpet floor is something that I will never try again. sometime i felt that it totally worthes an olympic medal!
On the last day before heading back, it seemed every one were finally recovered and for the first time we ventured out for a short hike.
The very evening it was mm's turn.
After much trouble and a couple of pound less for mm, we arrived home. The whole experience was so traumatizing that we are yet to have another vacation after almost a year...
And, of course, no more high elevation travel for the whole family, for a while...
