Lincoln Heights Jail (LA City Jail) closed in 1965. Original Art Deco structure was built in 1931 with a second wing - Bauhaus Modern - added in 1949. Currently used as a movie shooting location. Designated Los Angeles Historic-Cultural Monument on 11-30-1993.
LA City Council is looking for proposals to convert the former jail into a mixed use development.
